Sound is vital in film, enhancing storytelling by creating atmosphere and emotion. In film school, students learn that effective sound design—including dialogue, sound effects, and music—immerses audiences and guides their emotional responses. Mastering sound helps aspiring filmmakers craft cohesive narratives, making it an essential focus of their education.

We are incredibly proud of the 2024 Film School graduates. You faced numerous challenges, from collaborating with diverse personalities to navigating the unpredictable Florida weather, all while mastering the intricacies of a film set.We hope we’ve equipped you for the journey ahead, and we have every confidence that you will continue to make us proud!

@fox35orlando was on the set of the latest Valencia Motion Pictures collaboration "Addiction" produced and directed by @keithshatsoff We are so excited to be filming again with so many Alumni on set! They were interviewing our Program Chair @epfleming, some past alums, and current students. We can't wait to share the segment when it airs. Check our FB page for more photos!

Meanwhile back on campus Instructor Luis Poggi demonstrates how to lay dolly tracks. Featured here is our very own S-Type Panther Dolly from Panther FIlm Equipment. One of our favorite unique features about this, is how it has a battery powered boom, as opposed to most dolly’s using hydraulics.

The Students dive right into Camera Techniques. In this class, they learn how to build different camera setups with different cameras. Featured here is one of Sony's CineAlta series: FX9. Sony was one of the first to use a full-frame sensor in digital cinema cameras, revolutionizing the way filmmakers capture depth of field and image quality. This is just one of our cameras the students practice on.
