Valencia Film Students work on “The Plus One” Feature Film
In April and May our program participated in the feature film, “The Plus One”. Our students worked along side industry professional crew and cast. The films stars Grammy award winning R&B singer, Ashanti and comedian Cedric The Entertainer. This film marked our film program first feature film since the pandemic.
The students worked as crew in various departments Such as Assistant Directing, Grip, Lighting, Camera and Art. On these projects our students get to use what they’ve learned in the classroom and apply it practically, while getting more knowledge from their department heads. Our students also use these productions to network, which resulted in some of them being hired by their department heads on other productions.
The film follows Lizzie, who’s only request of her "Male of Honor" Marshall is that he doesn't bring his hated ex Marie to her destination wedding. But lovesick Marshall brings her as his plus one, and Marie does everything in her power to wreck Lizzie's big day.
The Plus One was filmed on location Clearwater, Florida and currently in Post Production. The film is set to be released in 2023.
